Fastnet Lighthouse is located 8 miles off the coast of County Cork and is Ireland’s most southerly point. During the mass emigration that occurred during Irelands potatoe famine of the 19th century, it became know as “Irelands Teardrop” as it was the last part of Ireland many of these Irish people would ever see again.
